Pretty please Spring!

Fi-nal-ly! spring is here!... I think. It has been teasing us since the official date until I begged like my son would "Please pretty please" come out, come out Spring!

PRINTS

I love this trend which can be floral print, water color print or geometric print. It's the perfect way to wear many colors at once without the restrictions of  the color blocking rules. Also animal print always gives an edge that will surely be noticed.

Floral

When I think of floral for this Spring I see flowing dresses and pants. I want to feel as light as a flower (without the 6 day/week gym regimen and low carb diet I am inflicting myself to fit in my summer clothes this year). I dream of spring collections 2013 from Ralph Lauren and Zac Posen annd Diane von Furstenberg...

The entire collection from designer Sophie Albou for Paul & Joe makes me want to travel.

Erdem's use of print can be ecclectic but this sheath dress inspires me for Spring.

Animal Print

There is nothing better than a wild armor in the form of an animal print to feel confident.

I am still attracted to flowing styles to soften the edgy side.

I must say I can't help but want to wear snake prints as well.

...and why not mix snake with another Spring trend: stripes!

STRIPES

I always felt comfortable in a stripe tee shirt. In fact I love stripes. Why?Well, we do have to thank Coco Chanel for introducing the sailor stripes to Fashion. It also reminds me the earlier times I started to wear the sailor striped shirt or marinière and my fascination with the work of Jean-Paul Gaultier in the early 90s. I even pretended to be potential model at one of his open castings in Paris. I was on a break from my very serious college studies and I just wanted to feel the energy of the designer at work. Gaultier was looking for eccentric people for his runway and of course he did not notice my unnatural attempt at eccentricity, but it was worth it.

Michael Kors Spring 2013 RTW

I just love Michael Kors collection for this Spring. The mix of vibrant colors, the use of prints and stripes, the impeccable tailoring make it very hard not to feel that you need every single item. It looks so accessible and yet sophisticated. If you have not seen it yet watch it! My easiest video source for fashion is often "you tube". See Michael Kors collection for yourself and don't fight the temptation!

BLACK AND WHITE

I like to wear black and white because it makes me look very sharp. It is my favorite combination for the office or a meeting.

Black and white can look  decisive like the Louis Vuitton checkered pattern

or as wild as this print from Proenza Schouler

It can be soft just as the previous floral looks from Giambattista Valli  or as this one from Lela Rose.

Of course I will continue to love the trend of color blocking that I enjoyed so much last year, so be colorful and wild with prints this Spring!
